Health and beauty benefits of BANANA

Today I am listing some of the health and beauty benefits of my favorite fruit BANANA........... Of-course I know many of you are aware of the benefits of banana and using in your day-to-day activity but of my curiosity I am posting this article :).

Benefits of BANANA
Banana is rich in minerals and vitamins (Vitamin E, C, B and A) that gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.It also helps to promote healthy skin and hair recovery.

Rich source of minerals and vitamins:

They are the best source of natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber and also servers 15% of daily requirement of vitamin C. It also contains 20% of daily requirement of vitamin B6, helps the body make non-essential amino acids in developing healthy cells. It helps in producing insulin, hemoglobin and antibodies that fight infections. It is a rich storehouse of potassium and natural oils that make banana an excellent emollient. Tryptophan is an amino acid, contained in bananas and this makes it perfect for beauty treatments.

Health Benefits:

DEPRESSION:
According to a survey people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

ANEMIA:
High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

BLOOD PRESSURE:
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

CONSTIPATION:
High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

HANGOVERS:
One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

HEARTBURN:
Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

MORNING SICKNESS:
Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

MOSQUITO BITES:
Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Overweight and at work? Studies found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

ULCERS:
The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chroniclercases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

So that I feel, not only an apple, 'a BANANA a day also keeps the doctor away!'

Beauty benefits:

Banana is extremely good for your hair and skin since it has natural moisturizing properties.
Easy Banana Beauty Tips:
  1. If you want to moisturize your skin instantly, take a ripe banana and smash it. Apply the pulp on your skin and wait for fifteen to twenty minutes. Your skin will feel moisturized and soft.
  2. Mash a ripe banana till it becomes creamy. Apply it on your face and wait for fifteen minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water followed by cold water. Regular practice would prevent wrinkles
  3. If your feet feel dry, application of banana pulp on the cracked and dry areas would help. Just wait for ten minutes after application and wash off alternately with trepid and cold water. Your feet become softer.
Banana Beauty Recipes And Applications On Skin:
• Sugar Scrub (for dry skin): Smash ripe banana and add sugar to it. Apply it on your skin and rub gently. While banana moisturizes dry skin, the sugar granules help to remove dead cells to reveal brighter skin.
• Strawberry Body Scrub: Cut a banana and a few strawberries in small pieces and place them in a bowl. Knead the pieces till the mixture becomes smooth and add two spoons of olive oil. Add three spoons of sugar. Apply it on your body and scrub gently. This exfoliant is gentle on your skin and this practice can be done once every week to get rid of dead skin cells.

•Lemon Face Pack (for oily skin): If you have an oily skin, add a spoon of milk and two spoons of lemon juice to smashed banana pulp. Apply the pack on your face to wait for twenty minutes. Wash with clean water.
•Honey Face Pack (for normal to dry skin): Take mashed banana and add a spoon of honey to it. Apply on your face and leave it on for fifteen minutes. Both banana and honey have natural moisturizing properties that hydrate dry skin and make your skin feel supple.
•Sandalwood Face Pack To Make Skin Glow: Mix one spoons of smashed banana with one spoon of sandalwood powder and honey. Apply it on your face to get glowing and young looking skin.
