DIY Craft making: Flower with sattin ribbon

Hi, today i am going to show you steps in making a sattin ribbon flower shown above .Things needed

1. Sattin ribbon (color of ur choice)
2. Scissors
3. Thread and needle (matching the ribbon)
4.Beads for decoration
5. Candle
6. Foam
7. Gum (optional)

STEPS:
Cut ribbon to the lenght of your index finger for making petals using scissors. Cut 15-20 pieces or as you like depending on the size of your flower.
Now take a piece, cut and fold at one end of ribbon piece as shown in figure and fix the edge using candle.
you will get like below
Fold on the other end and fix the folding with the candle as shown below

Now your petal is ready with perfect shape as shown
Making all the petals by above procedure, below is the pic of my petals made
Stitch petals one by one to the foam using needle in circular manner to define a flower shape

The back of the flower is shown above, here its looking a little mess, but you can make it better those who know stitching well. We can use gum instead of stitching also to fix the petals to foam. I preffered stitching as it is strong and lasts long and washable also.
After completing a layer, make two more layers to have a close look of flower, but I did only two layers here to jus define the flower. After completion of the flower stitch a bead like a bud on the flower.
Here...the flower is done. We can decorate hairbands, clips, and frocks n gowns of you and ur little ones with these beautiful flower matching in dressing.

DIY: Green tea sugar scrub, a spa treatment.

Hi friends,
Today I am going to tell you how to make a green tea sugar scrub at home for giving your body a spa treatment.
Things needed:  1. Granulated sugar
                                        2. Green tea sachet - 1
                                        3. Honey - 4 tbl spoon
                                        4. Lemon juice - 2 tbl spoon

Directions:
Dip the green tea sachet in half glass water and keep aside for 5min. Take a bowl and add 3 table spoons of sugar, add honey and lemon juice and mix well. Now add 2 table spoons of green tea water to this mixture and mix well. Add sugar if the mixture feels watery to make as paste. Save this into a jar and refregerate for future use.
This can be used as both face and body scrub at any time which gently exfoliates dead skin and leaves skin fresh and moisturized. Lemon acts as natural bleach, honey as a moistrizer and finally green tea is rich in anti-oxidents as we all know which helps in keeping skin fresh.

Additional:
We can add a table spoon of olive oil/coconut oil to the mixture which hydrates and keep skin soft, for dry skin we can add one more spoon of olive oil. We can also use brown sugar if available.
Final touch: This scrub can be used for both face, body and lips once in a week.

Polala Amavasya katha (పొలాల అమావాస్య) in telugu

పొలాల అమావాస్య :

Polala amavasya- is an important vrathamdedicated to Goddess Poleramma, observed on Sravana amavasya (no moon day). Poleramma is the local deity. This vratham is mainly observed in Andhra Pradesh and some parts of Karnataka. North Indians celebrate as Pithori amavasya and Maharashtrians as Pola.
Goddess Poleramma is known as the protector of children. Every year, offering prayers to Poleramma coincides on the amavasya day and hence the vratham is called Polala amavasya. Symbolically Goddess is worshiped in the form of  “kanda mokka” (suran or yam shrub) or “kanda dumpa”(suran or yam bulb). Women perform puja andraksha thoranam (sacred thread) is also worshipped during the puja. According to vrata texts, by performing this vrata, one can safe guard their children from the clutches of death. Women tie the sacred thread to her children after reading the story about a mother who prayed Poleramma to help bring back her dead young children. For the welfare of the male children fried sweet balls of chana dal and jaggery are made, for the welfare of female children urad dal vadas are made and offered to Goddess Poleramma.

Varalakshmi Vratha Katha (Legend or Story of Vara Laxmi Vratram)

Vara Laxmi Vrata is observed on the Second Friday of the Shravan month. Charumathi, a Brahmin woman lived in a town, Kundina. She was very humble and kind in her nature. She was very much devoted to her husband and family.

One night, Goddess Laxmi appeared in her dream and told her to worship Vara Laxmi and seek her blessings. Goddess Laxmi also explained the Vrata procedure and the best day to observe Vara Laxmi Vrata. Laxmi asked Charumathi to observe Varalaxmi Vrata on the Second Friday of Shravana Month.

Charumathi informed about the dream to his husband and family. She also told to her friends and the word spread throughout the town. On the Second Friday of Shravan Month, Charumathi along with her family, friends and the women of the town observe Vara Laxmi Vrata. They worshipped Vara Laxmi with utmost devotion and offered special recipes and fruits to please her. Goddess Vara Laxmi appeared before them and granted boons to all of them. Their houses were filled with grains, diamonds, jewels and gold. They all lived happily in their rest of life. Since the time, women have begun observing Vara Laxmi Vrata every year on the specific Friday.
