5 DIY Mint(Metha) Face Packs

Mint is a medicinal herb with very fragrant, toothed leaves and tiny purple, pink, or white flowers. It has a fruity, aromatic taste.  It is used in a variety of products. If you look around, you can see that many shampoos, cleansers, toners, astringents, chewing gums, green tea etc., have that mint factor in them, its because mint has a wide range of benefits. The first thing you would associate with mint is “refreshing.”

Mint has antimicrobial, antiseptic, and anti-bacterial properties and hence is great to treat skin diseases, in particular acne and inflammatory condition. It calms irritated skin and imparts a cooling effect to the skin. It is rich in vitamin A and also has astringent properties. Since it has salicylic acid content, can treat, heal, and combat acne condition. Another important factor is that it is rich in anti-oxidants hence protects skin from free radical damage. Since it takes care of a lot of skin issues, its prudent that we make use of its properties by using it in face packs.

Here are five face pack recipes made from mint:

1. Mint, Tulsi, and Neem Face Pack For Severe Acne:
This face pack will act as a immediate cure for severe acne. Take a few neem leaves, mint leaves, and tulsi leaves, grind them into a smooth paste. Add one tablespoon of curd to this mixture and apply this pack on the face for 30 minutes and rinse off. Use this pack regularly to get rid of acne.

2. Mint and Cucumber Face Pack:
A refreshing and brightening face pack, perfect for summers. Take a few mint leaves and a few pieces of cucumber (gratted cucumber make work easy). Make a paste out of the two ingredients, add honey if you want(moisturize skin), and apply on the face and keep for 20 minutes, rinse off. This face pack will tone and add glow to your face.

3. Mint and Multani Mitti Face Pack:
Another face pack for oily skin, this face pack refreshes skin and controls excess oil secretion. Grind a few mint leaves and add in 1 tbsp of multani mitti. Mix well, and now you can add a tbsp of either honey or curd, mix well, and apply on face. You can use honey(dry skin) or curd(oily skin) or just add rose water(for all skin types) to make a paste out if it. Apply on the face and keep for 20 minutes before rinsing off.

4. Cool and Refreshing Mint Face Scrub:
This is again a cool and refreshing face pack cum scrub. The ingredients you need are 1 tbsp oats, 2 tbsp milk powder, 1/2 tbsp honey, 10-12 mint leaves, and a small cucumber. In a bowl, take 1 tbsp oats and add 2 tbsp milk powder. Add in honey, muddle up the mint leaves and grate the cucumber into it, mix all the ingredients well. Apply on the face and let it dry for 7 minutes. Scrub in a circular motions and wash off for a cool and relaxed feeling.

5. Mint and Yogurt Face Pack:
Take some mint leaves and wash them properly. Take 2 tbsp of yogurt and mint leaves in a mortar and pestle and make a paste. Mix in 1 tbsp of multani mitti into a thick paste. Apply on the face and rinse after 20 minutes.

I always go with 2, 3, 5 packs regularly. :)
